You might recognise Kitty from our recent Spring/Summer Collection shoot. I mean how could you miss that bright blue hair and cheeky smile? But when we’re not wrapping her in Blushing Confetti and asking her to say ‘cheese’, she’s embedded deep with Brisbane’s up and coming creative scene. Describing herself as a bit of an ideas scribbler, this year she’s started her own wares business with partner Al [aka Dr Dangery]. Not only that, they began work on a shipping container home [yes I said ‘shipping container] and changed her bright blue locks at least three for four times. Let’s just say she’s more than a pretty face!
We think you’ll love Kitty as much as we do so read more about her below:

Tell us a bit out yourself?
I feel like I’m always working, except it doesn’t feel like work! I’m a sucker for a long brunch, but spend most of my days elbow deep in steel and brass. I’m also currently building a new home from a shipping container and attempting to design everything in it!
Apart from being a pretty fabulous model, you also run fifteenthirtyeight. Tell us a bit about your business?
fifteenthirtyeight is a collaboration between my parter Al and myself. We design and hand make industrial influenced furniture and objects in our Brisbane studio. We love experimenting with steel, brass and marble and are currently working on our next collection which will bring some new shapes and styles to our aesthetic.
What is your favourite type of stationery?
I’m an ideas scribbler so I have random note books dotted around my home and studio filled with many random ideas and musings. I’m a sucker for marble so I can’t get enough of Blushing Confetti’s Marble Desktop Calendar – très chic!
Why do you like working with other creatives?
We love working with other Brisbane brands like Blushing to build on Brisbane’s growing creative scene! There’s so much fabulous work happening here and it’s great to get to know the people behind the labels and help each other out!
What’s will your next hair colour be?
I just switched things up with a moody dark blue… So I’ll let you know in a few months when I’m sick of it ;)
Favourite jam (of the musical kind)?
It’s always a pretty damn eclectic playlist at the studio. I love a bit of everything, from old school hip hop, a bit of 90’s grunge to newer stuff from the likes of The Black Keys, The Bronx and The Chemical Brothers. I can’t go past a Friday afternoon mix from Girl Talk or Krafty Kuts.

We’ve been a little bit quiet around these parts and for that we are sorry! BUT we have been madly running around designing our new collection, printing the collection, launching it at Melbourne Life Instyle and then posting to all our brand spankin new stockists. Phew! Now we are back and we want to show you all of the pretty things.
All beautiful photos courtesy of resident Blushing photographer, When Elephant Met Zebra.
Meet Kitty. Kitty was an unsuspecting victim of wrap bombing but she definitely knows how to work our new wrapping paper!
Eep! Our favourite new product! Our 2016 marble calendars come with a beautiful Italian Carrara marble block, three designs and copper foil details.
We certainly do!
The perfect birthday card for the girlfriend. Time to eat cake and drink wine from the bottle!
So many new pretty things! Let us know what you think and you can see the full range in our shop here.

We tend to go a little crazy at Christmas. If it’s not searching for the perfect presents, the wrapping of the presents, the tree, the food, the lights, the tinsel, the glitter, santa, rum balls (oh the rum balls!!); it’s more wrapping. It’s the season of giving which means it is usually a bit of a drag to the bank balance right? If you are after a simple way to add a persononalised and glam touch to your gifts then we have the answer! You really can find the most amazing things in the most unexpected places – even Bunnings!
You will need from Bunnings:
1. Mallet ($10)
2. Copper plant labels ($3.23)
3. Metal letters for punching ($30)
Then simply choose what you would like your tags to say and go about tapping the end with the mallet.
We’ve punched out a few different designs but personalising with a name is always a special touch.
Trim the excess end of the tag with scissors.
Add into your wrapping style and voila! Thank you Bunnings!
That is a wrap for the Finders Keepers market and what an adventure it was!
Thank you to everyone who came down to the Brisbane markets and visited the Blushing Confetti stall. We had so much fun meeting everyone and sharing with you what we love.
We hope you picked yourself up some special goodies (we surely did!) and we will no doubt see you all again soon.
